The cream of mushroom soup is very good with lots of mushrooms and was not too heavy on the cream. The kasaspaeztle (which is like a german mac and cheese) was a homemade spaetzle with a cream sauce and melted cheese. It was quite good. The meal came with an excellent house salad which was so good! A simple dressing with lots of fresh vegetables like red cabbage, cucumber and tomato with a touch of rye came with it. This made it truly memorable. The jagerschnitzel did not disappoint either. It was made of mushroom sauce and tender veal.
Also, kudos on the Elk Steak, Forestier Sautéed with chanterelles and cepes sauce, which was delicious and Pasta “Romano” (Shrimp and crabmeat with angelhair pasta in a light wine and cream sauce), which was also excellent. You’ll enjoy attentive and friendly service in a cozy, yet lively atmosphere. This is one we can recommend for those who like to adventure beyond fast food and common restaurants. It was medium on price with meals running around $30 per person average.
Save room for desert! They have some very special offerings of pastries made daily.
