Situated in the heart of one of Canada’s most exciting cities, The Westin Calgary is located downtown where the major business centre meets the city’s extraordinary outdoor activities and first-class dining and arts. We are conveniently connected to the business, dining, and shopping districts of the city by 16.5 kilometres of climate-controlled pedestrian walkways.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable…with views in every direction of downtown Calgary.  As of this writing, the hotel has just undergone a $61MM renovation upgrading every room with the latest amenities.

If you are visiting Calgary during the Calgary Stampede (like we did), the Westin Calgary is the place to stay.  The staff certainly morphs into the Western theme (including taking on new names through the stampede.)  Beef jerky and beer were waiting in our hotel room (a very unique touch).   Every day, there is a special “stampede-related” event happening in the hotel and several more happening around the hotel.  It’s difficult to describe the atmosphere during the stampede, but suffice it to say that it is unique enough to have caught the Top 100 radar, and altough we stayed for a week, we never ran out of one-of-a-kind things to see or do.

If you have “Visit the Calgary Stampede” on your bucket list, then make a reservation at the Westin Calgary…it’s the best way to experience the stampede.
