Aboard the Nantucket Clipper, it’s clear that great things come in small packages. The Clipper is a mere 207 feet long and 37 feet wide, which gives it the opportunity to sail waterways either too shallow or narrow for larger ships to maneuver. The ability to visit areas rarely traversed by cruise ships has made the ship the envy of the industry. Able to accommodate only 100 passengers, the Clipper seems more like a yacht, and the guests will enjoy the intimate setting and personalized service.
The ship’s varied itineraries include routes along the Canadian and U.S. Atlantic Coast, French Canada and the Great Lakes, even Latin America and Nova Scotia. Optional excursions are available for guests, allowing them to explore sights such as colonial and antebellum Southern mansions, the ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal, even Niagara Falls. At the end of each day, an onboard naturalist and historian will recap the day’s sights and events in a series of informal talks.
What’s Cool: Grab your binoculars for whale watching in the Saguenay Fjord.
